This is a stunning black Guatemalan Jadeite cabochon, cut in a free-form design. It is 57 x 38 mm at its widest points, and just over 6 mm thick. It weighs 88.5 carats. A gorgeous piece, whether as just a collectors cabochon, or as the focal point in a special setting.

This is a Quartz cabochon, filled with tiny black schorl Tourmaline needles. It is a free-form design, 53 x 19 mm at its wider points and 6-7 mm thick. It weighs 46 carats. The artist on this piece was S.A. Wittick. This is a wonderful stone, and will look great as the focal point of any special jewelry creation.

This is a small Mexican Crazy Lace Agate cabochon, cut by S.A. Wittick. It is 37 x 19 mm and 4 mm thick. It weighs 18.2 carats. It has a nice polish on the front and back as well. A beautiful little piece, ready for a special setting!

Laguna Agate Cabochon

Large 63 mm round Laguna Agate Cabochon with Parallax

This is much larger than normal round cabochon, cut from a piece of Laguna Agate. It is just under 164 mm in diameter, 5-6 mm thick, and weighs 162.4 carats. It may be an imperfect piece, but it is beautiful when you notice the details. The imperfections are not as noticeable in person as they look in the photos. The raspberry lines on both sides have a shadow affect, or what is called 'parallax' - when your move it back and forth in the light, it gives a 3D-like affect. The very center is a tiny crystalline pocket sealed in the agate. The back has been ground down with a light polish.

This is a very neat Royal Imperial Jasper cabochon showing nice egg patterns. It is 30 x 35 mm and just under 7 mm thick. It weighs 47.4 carats. The artist's name on this piece is unknown, just one of several neat cabochons we acquired in Tucson recently. Note the tiny mark on the left edge in the first shot is a slight pocket in the material, otherwise nicely polished on the sides and face. Back is unpolished.

We found this wonderful piece of Jasp-Agate in a creek near San Simeon, California. This is one of the beautiful cabs from that material. It is 37 mm in diameter, and 7 mm thick. It weighs 73 carats. The back is has a nice polish on it as well.

This is a cabochon cut from quartz chalcedony, 'Blue Holly Agate,' from the Nsanje District of Malawi. It is a free-form shape, 41 x 30 mm at its wider points and 5-8 mm thick. It weighs 77 carats. Beautiful stone for a custom setting or wire-wrap design.

Dryhead Agate Cabochon

Dryhead Agate Collectors Cabochon with Face

This is a free-form cabochon cut from a piece of Dryhead Agate. While it is a pretty and unique cabochon with a beautiful fortification pattern in it, notice the face! The artist on this piece, S.A. Wittick, called it an angry man, but to me, it is totally the face of a Cookie Monster! :) Whatever you see in it, it is great collectors piece (and the photo will definitely wind up in our gallery of awesome rocks!) It is just shy of 23 mm at its widest x 44 mm long from the top tip to the opposite side and just under 6 mm thick. It weighs 37.6 carats. The smile of the face is actually two small open crystalline pockets. There is another crystalline area toward the top, but it is filled with agate, and light is visible through that one. The back has a nice polish as well. This is an awesome collectors cabochon, whatever you see the pattern!

This is a long, triangular-cut cabochon from the druse crystals on a piece of Blue Lace Agate from Africa ('druse' means tiny encrusted crystals on the surface of a rock or mineral, and is often spelled druze or druzy). It has a very textured, sparkling look to it. It is 56 x 24 mm. The girdle is between 5-9 mm wide, slightly beveled at the bottom edge, and pretty close to straight up the side. It weighs 73 carats. It's a beautiful stone, ready for a unique and custom setting.

This is a beautiful cabochon from a piece of Orbicular Rhyolite. A friend found this awesome material near Cambria on the Central Coast of California. It is 35 x 17 mm, and 20 carats (4 grams). Artist on this piece is S.A. Wittick. It's an awesome, unique little cabochon, ready for a special setting.

This is a large and beautiful Paul Bunyan Plume Agate cabochon. It is 67 x 30 mm at the widest points, and 5 mm thick. It weighs 67 carats. It is nicely polished on both the front as well as on the back. S.A. Wittick is the artist on this piece. This is a neat cabochon, cut from a piece of Brazilian Agate, including the crystal end of the stone. You see the points on the crystals except on the one edge, where the crystal point is missing. Almost looks like a squid swimming! :) It is 63 x 26 mm and just over 6 mm thick. It weighs 94.6 carats. It is polished on both the front and the back. The artist on this piece is S.A. Wittick. It's a special piece that we think will be perfect for the right person!

This is a beautiful, larger cabochon cut from Gold Sheen Obsidian. In normal lighting, you barely notice the rich mahogany spashes of color on either side but rock it a little under lighting, or move it into sunlight, and the amazing golden sheen flashes! Despite how it looks like this piece has deep caverns in it, it has a flat, smooth surface on both polished sides. It is 49 mm in diameter and as thick as 10 mm, with a 3-4 mm bezzel. It weighs 177 carats.

The material comes from the Tehachapi Mountains in California and is difficult to find since the area is no longer available for collecting. It is 51 x 12 mm and 8 mm thick. It weighs 48 carats. There is a nice polish on the front, and the back has a lightly polished surface as well.

This is a cabochon cut from a piece of Opal from Morado, Mexico. From what we can tell, it IS Opal, though not what you would normally think of as Opal, but a "common" Opal. Beautiful material, hard to capture its gorgeous color in our photos - these are pretty close, but after MANY attempts! It is 35 x 16 mm at its wider points, and 5 mm thick, weighing around 17 carats.
