This page is for polished spheres we have for sale. Each piece started as a rough piece of jasper, agate, or other stone, and through a detailed process over a number of hours, was cut, shaped and ground-down to the round sphere shape, and then polished. We charge one shipping cost for all that will safely fit in the box and will ship to the U.S. as well as Internationally. For International orders, there may be an additional shipping cost. Blue Jasper Sphere

This is a stone sphere from a blue jasper, cut and polished by Ed. It almost looks like a planet, with lots of blue waters, some browns of earth and a few snowy white areas as well. It is about 3" in diameter, and weighs 665 grams, or 1 lb, 7 ounces. It has a wonderfully smooth feel to it, except a few natural flaws from the stone. It is shown on a small round sphere stand in some of the photos, but the stand is not included.

This stone sphere is from a Jasper with a peanut-butter coloring. It was cut and polished by Ed. It is just under 3" in diameter, and weighs 580 grams, or 1 lb, 4 ounces. It is very smooth except a few natural flaws of the stone. It is shown on a small round sphere stand in some of the photos, but the stand is not included. It was hard to capture the coloring precisely, but it is closest the ones photographed with the plant and marble counter.

Travertine Sphere

This is a sphere made from Travertine. 'Travertine' is a type of limestone, material similar to Onyx and Marble. It was collected in the Mojave Desert of California. In natural lighting the color is closer to how it looks in the photos on light background, but when moved under direct light or sunlight, the colors become more apparent. It is just a little less than 3" and weighs 1 lb, 5 ounces.

This is a another sphere made from Travertine (Mojave Desert). It is a larger one, just a quarter inch less than 4" in diameter. It weighs 2 lbs, 13.5 ounces. 'Travertine' is often seen as a material used in making countertops, but it is also popular by lapidary artists for various types of polished stones. In natural lighting the color is closer to how it looks in the photos on light background, but when moved under direct light or sunlight, the colors become more apparent. There are some natural flaws in it as visible in the photos.

Red Jasper Sphere

This sphere is made from what looks like a brecciated red Jasper-Agate. 'Brecciated' is where the rock has been shattered into fragments that have been cemented back together over time. It measures about 3.5" diameter, and weighs 2 lbs 2.5 ounces. The coloring of this one is closer to what it looks like on the lighter backgrounds. It becomes more vibrant when moved into the direct light or sunlight.
