Small Purple Jade Slabs

Two Small Purple Jade Slab Pieces

These are two small pieces of purple Jade from Turkey. This material is beautiful, but the coloring is not quite as intense as these look in the photos. (I'm breaking in a new camera, and haven't quite mastered it yet for more accurate coloring. It's a little closer to this than how it looked with the older camera, as with the other purple Jade items you can see on our Jade page, but not quite this intense.) The larger one has pencil lines on the back that easily erase or polish off. The small one is just a tiny piece for perhaps a very small cab if you cut them that small. The larger piece is 2 3/8" x 1 1/8" and 7 mm thick. Together they weigh 131 carats, or 26 grams (9/10 of an ounce).

Stone Canyon Slab

Small Stone Canyon Brecciated Jasper Slab

This is a small slab of Stone Canyon Jasper. It is roughly 2 1/2" x 1 3/4" and 6-7 mm thick. It weighs 1.4 ounces, or 39 grams. It appears to be a nice, solid piece.

Burro Creek Slab

Small Burro Creek Agate Slab

This is a small piece of Burro Creek Agate. Just enough of this piece for a small cab. The slab itself is about 1 3/4" x 1 1/2" and 7 mm thick, but that includes the matrix area. It weighs 30 grams, or 1 ounce. Please also notice toward the top are faint lines that could be small fractures to work around.

Verde Antique Marble Slab

Verde Antique Marble Slab

This is a slice of Verde Antique Marble, from the Mojave Desert, outside of Victorville, California. It's mostly a light apple green in color with a black streaks across it. It is 3 5/8" x about 2" and 5-6 mm thick. It weighs 74 grams, or 2.6 ounces.

Blue Lace Agate Slab

Small Blue Lace Agate Slab

This is a slab of Blue Lace Agate - a great deal for the price on this one! It is 2" x 1 5/8" and slightly over 6 mm thick. It weighs 35 grams, or 1.2 ounces. There are some small pits about the middle of one side, and the other has a black mark across the surface (probably a saw mark), but it is otherwise very nice and should yield one or more beautiful cabs!

This is a small slice of Petrified Wood. We don't know the locality or type, but it is a pretty little piece, showing some wood graining, kind of looks like 'brush' strokes. It is roughly 3" x 1" and 6 mm thick, and weighs 27.5 grams, or slightly less than 1 ounce.

Leopard Skin Jasper Slab

Small Leopard Skin Jasper Slab

This is a nice end piece slab of Leopard Skin Jasper. It is 2 1/4" x 1 1/2" at its wider points, and tapers from a thin edge on one side up to 12 mm thick. It weighs 36 grams, or 1.3 ounces. It looks like a nice solid slab and should yield one or more neat cabs.

TeePee Canyon Agate Small Cab Slab

This is a slab of TeePee Canyon Agate from South Dakota. Just a small area of pattern in this piece, but a nice one for a small cab. The slab overall is about 3" x 1 1/2", but note the size of the pattern area by comparing to the ruler. It's 6 mm thick and weighs 40 grams, or 1.5 ounces. It was photographed wet.

Moss Agate Rough

Maury Mountain Moss Agate Rough Chunk

This is a small rough chunk of Maury Mountain Moss Agate. One small area is sliced flat, but most is just the rough material. It is about 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" and mostly between 9 - 22 mm thick. It weighs 96 grams, or 3.4 ounces. Please note that the natural coloring of this material is not as bright as it looks in the photos, but it comes to life in the sunshine. It was photographed wet.

Coyamito Agate Nodule

Coyamito Agate Half Nodule with Sagenite

We are pretty sure this is a Coyamito Agate. It has light pink and yellowish coloring, but Sagenite formations as well (sagenite formations are needle-like mineral growths, often in a fan-type shape). It is roughly 2 1/8x 1 7/8 and mostly 15-24 mm thick. It weighs 77 grams, or 2.7 ounces. The pocket itself does not have crystals, but is just matrix. A nice candidate for polishing as a specimen, but would also make one, maybe more, neat cabochons.
