This is a polished Mexican Agate, essentially a double. We aren't sure where this piece came from other than we know it was collected in Mexico. It has some similarities to some Agua Nueva we've seen, though we aren't sure that's what this is. There is an open pocket on the one side, with a small area of pink fortification, while the other side has more amazing variety in it. It is 2 3/4" x 2 1/8" at its wider points, and 16-28 mm thick.

[On lighter background] [Side one] [Side two] [Close-up] [Close-up other side] [Nodule shot]This is both sides of a polished Laguna Agate nodule, though it is possible it is actually an Agua Nueva. Either way, a stunning pair! It was one of an old collection we acquired of uncut Mexican Agates. The lavendar crystals are framed by a cranberry ribbon with delicate dabbings of moss in it. Both sides are each roughly 2 1/4" x 1 1/8" at their wider points and 17-18 mm thick. Together they weigh 71 grams, or 2.5 ounces. Totally awesome pieces for any collection!
