This is a Quartz cabochon, filled with tiny black schorl Tourmaline needles. It is a free-form design, 53 x 19 mm at its wider points and 6-7 mm thick. It weighs 46 carats. The artist on this piece was S.A. Wittick. This is a wonderful stone, and will look great as the focal point of any special jewelry creation.

Blue Holly Agate Cabochon

Malawi Blue Holly Chalcedony Druse Cabochon

This is a cabochon cut from quartz chalcedony, 'Blue Holly Agate,' from the Nsanje District of Malawi. It is a free-form shape, 41 x 30 mm at its wider points and 5-8 mm thick. It weighs 77 carats. Beautiful stone for a custom setting or wire-wrap design.

Blue Lace Druse Cabochon

55 mm Long Triangular Blue Lace Agate Druse Cabochon

This is a long, triangular-cut cabochon from the druse crystals on a piece of Blue Lace Agate from Africa ('druse' means tiny encrusted crystals on the surface of a rock or mineral, and is often spelled druze or druzy). It has a very textured, sparkling look to it. It is 56 x 24 mm. The girdle is between 5-9 mm wide, slightly beveled at the bottom edge, and pretty close to straight up the side. It weighs 73 carats. It's a beautiful stone, ready for a unique and custom setting.

Rutilated Quartz Cabochon

Huge 176 ct Rutilated Quartz Cabochon

This is a large piece of Quartz, filled with golden Rutile spikes, gently sculpted into a freeform, triangular shaped cabochon. You can even catch a small glimps of rainbow colors in it, like an iris-affect (apparently that's visible because of small feathers inside the stone) on one corner when moved in the light - awesome! It weighs 176 carats! It measures 45 x 41 mm at its widest points, and has a thick, dome shape that rounds off around 17 mm high. The back is not totally flat, but has a slight curve to it. There is a small 6 mm wide feather near the bottom edge on one side, visible in several of the shots. To use as the focal point of a jewelry piece just realize how large it is in thickness, but it would be gorgeous, or 'stunningly' as the case could be! (You can tell it's not Ed that writes this, right?) I don't think these pictures do it justice ... but it's ready for some awesome setting, or for addition to display as part of a collection!
