Agate Bookends

Unpolished Agate Bookends, Probably Brazilian

This pair is a dark Agate with some Carnelian swirls in it, probably a Brazilian Agate. The sides are natural and unpolished, as visible in slide show photo #3 and last two. The other photos show the sides wet, giving an idea what they would look like if polished (polishing can be done if requested for an additional cost of $45 for one face, both sides). Both sides together, it weighs 5 lbs, 2.5 ounces and measures roughly 4" x 4" with one side 2" thick and the other 2 1/4." Size is suitable for books of medium size. In natural lighting it is closer to how it looks on the light background. (Additional shipping cost for International, please contact us before buying.)

Fossil Stone Bookends

Natural Stone Fossil Shell Bookends

This is a set of bookends cut from a natural, unique stone with fossil shells in it. It's a neat specimen piece with a rock of some type embedded into the side, protruding out when viewed one way, and a very worn, empty cavity that looks like it once held another rock. They are not fully polished but have had a light grinding on one matching side, and a little bit more of a polish on the other main side (1st photo) - just enough to make the definition of the fossils a little more intense. Together they weigh 5 lbs, 13.5 ounces. Best suited to support medium size, non-heavy books. Better polishing can be done upon request ($45 for one face, both sides). Petrified Wood Bookends

Petrified Wood Natural Stone Bookends

This is a natural, unpolished set of bookends made from Petrified Wood - a fossil of an ancient tree. It has been sliced on all sides, but quite a bit of the natural, rough areas are left as well. That area of lighter color in the main photo is below the cut surface and is the textured wood pattern. Please note that other than being sliced, it has a nub left from the saw that would prevent it from fitting flush against books in the position of the main photo (if you want, ask and we'll smooth it out). Together they weigh 9 lbs 15 ounces. Nice weight, should be able to support larger size books. Polishing can be done upon request ($60 for one face, both sides). Pyramid Stone Bookends

Polished Pyramid Shaped Jasper-Agate Bookends

This is a set of polished stone bookends, some kind of jasper-agate. All four sides are cut and polished and the very top is the uncut rock. Felt lines the bottom. There is a very small crystal-filled cavity on one side. The base of each one of the triangular-cut sides is just over 4 1/4", or about 8 3/4" together. The depth is just over 3" wide. They stand about 6" high in the center. Together they weigh about 11 pounds, 6 ounces. Sturdy bookends, should be able to support larger size books.
