Laguna Agate Slab

Exquisite Alianza Laguna Agate Slab

This is a stunning Laguna Agate slab, from the Alianza Claim in Mexico. It is an unpolished specimen slab, but some gorgeous premium cabochon potential if preferred. There are wonderful patterns on both sides. It measures a little under 3 7/8" x over 2 1/2" at the wider points x apx 1/4" thick (6.4-7 mm). The weight is 93 grams, or 3.3 ounces. It would be a beauty as a polished specimen, or keep it as the amazing, natural specimen as is. Polishing is available ($45 1 side/$90 both). Contact us for an invoice if you would like us to polish it. It is shown in the slideshow both wet and dry.

Large 7 Lb Laguna Agate Rough Uncut Nodule

This is an amazing 7 lb Laguna Agate nodule. Unfortunately it has already sold but we have more coming soon, so it is still here as information. It is one piece of some wonderful old-stock Mexican Agates we've had mostly stuffed away for a number of years. We acquired the batch from an elderly man who, with a friend, traveled around Mexico back in the 60's, collecting all kinds of rough Mexican agates. This is one of those. Laguna Agate Slab

Unpolished Old Stock Laguna Agate Slab with Parallax

This is a slice of a Laguna Agate. There is parallax visible (parallax is a 3D, shadow effect - when you move it back and forth, it's like you are seeing down into the stone). It also has wonderful, delicate patterns along the edges, including a little Sagenite. There are saw marks on one side that should polish off if polishing, and the other side has an uneven saw cut. It measures 3" x 2 1/2" x 1/4" in the thicker area and 3/16" (just under 5 mm) in the thinnest. It weighs 60.9 grams, or 2.1 ounces.

Mexican Agate Slab

Unpolished Colorful Mexican Agate Slab, Old Stock

This is a very neat slice of a Mexican Agate! We're not sure but it could be a Laguna, having come from an old collection we once acquired. The pattern on one side has a cryptocrystalline center ('crypto-' as in 'hidden' or hard to see the structure of the tiny quartz crystals) surrounded by colorful banding. Turn it over and you see an abundance of other formations going on in this stone! It's not very large, just 2 1/2" x 2 1/2", and 1/4* thick (6.4 mm). It weighs 46.7 grams, or 1.6 ounces.

Top Quality Alianza Laguna Agate Slab with Parallax

This is a slice of a premium Laguna Agate, from the Alianza Claim in Mexico. With a striking rusty-red center in the middle of a soft white banding, it has beautiful parallax on both sides! (Parallax is a 3D, shadow effect - when you move it back and forth, it's like you are seeing down into the stone). It measures 3 1/2" x 2 3/8" x just under 6 mm, and weighs 72.1 grams, or 2.5 ounces.

Laguna Agate Slab

Small Alianza Laguna Agate Slab with Parallax and Tiny Plumes!

This is another slice of a premium Laguna Agate, from the Alianza Claim in Mexico. This wonderful smaller piece has parallax visible on both sides in the fortification area and what looks like tiny plumes in part of the colorful half! It weighs 42.2 grams, or 1.5 ounces, and measures about 2 1/4" x 2" x a little less than 6 mm.
