This is a small slab of Rare Horse Canyon Agate. It is very dark in natural light, but when viewed under direct lighting, or sunshine, you see greens and reds amidst the dark agate. It measures roughly 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" and about 6 mm thick. It weighs 18 grams, or 6/10 of an ounce. First Class shipping available upon request.

These are three small Horse Canyon Agate slabs. One of the larger ones is full of wild, beautiful patterns. The other larger one has mossy agate on one end, and milky quartz in the rest. The smallest may or may not hold together for a small cab. Total weight is 49.6 grams, or 1.7 ounces. First Class shipping available upon request.

Horse Canyon Moss Agate Rough, by the Pound ($8/lb)

This is for rough, uncut pieces of Horse Canyon Agate from Tehachappi, California. The material is more rare these days, mostly what can be found from old collections, like what we are offering here. Some pieces have nicer shapes, others are more awkwardly-shaped, and some are thin and more flat with the agate window along the thin side so you would need to grind away the matrix layer to get a decent sized stone. Some have a little moss and color, some pieces have a lot. Very few have no color at all. Nearly all pieces are rough, uncut, though you might receive a piece here or there that has already been sliced. Sizes can be as small as 1" x 1/2" up to about 3" x 3-4", with a few a little larger. (Note the main photo shows larger pieces, most of those have already been sold.) If you want more than 3 lbs, please also purchase the Medium Flat Rate box cost at the bottom of this page to cover the additional postage. This is a gorgeous, large, unpolished slice of Plume Agate. We believe it is a slice from the Graveyard Point area near the Oregon/Idaho border in the Owyhee Mountains. It is roughly 9 3/8" x 8" at its widest points, and a little less than 1/4" thick, at 5 mm. This large beauty weighs a full 1 pound, or 450 grams. A beautiful large slice of this material! This is an unpolished, slice of Moss Agate with lots of little 'poppies' in it. We've heard it referred to as Christmas Tree Agate, and comes from the Southern Cady Mountains in the Mojave Desert. This piece has already sold, but we do have another slice or two, just not photographed yet. If you would like to see more, send us a message and we'll put attention to getting more up soon.
