This is an Agate cabochon cut from material collected years ago in Last Chance Canyon in the El Paso Mountains of the Mojave Desert. Looking closely you will see a few delicate dendrite patterns. There is a thin bezel on each side and a nice polish on the front, back is ground down but not polished. It is rectangular in shape, measuring apx 36 x 27 x up to 5.7 mm thick, and weighing 11 grams, or 4/10 of an ounce. Note that it has a fracture line in it that contributes to the look of the piece, but it is not visible on the back side except a very short area at just the top.

This is a cabochon cut from a piece of picture rock collected from the Rand Mountain area (near Randsburg) in the Mojave Desert of California. It has a really pretty desert-mountain scene in it. The material looks like a jasper but it is more likely a Rhyolite. It's 38 x 52 x 7 mm. There is a thin bezel on it. It is polished on the face and unpolished on the back. It's a nice piece as a locality specimen or for creating as a focal piece in a jewelry design.
